Tik Tok Chili Oil Noodles


Chili Oil Noodles are the quickest, simplest, and most popular Tik Tok style noodles recipe hack. These flavorful vegetarian noodles are ready in under 20 minutes. The highlights of this Korean drama-style chilli garlic noodles are the minimal cooking time and the mega bomb flavors.


I don't usually fall for social media trending recipe hacks. None of these recipe hacks made it into my recipe book, whether it was Dalgona Coffee or Baked Feta Pasta.


But these Tik Tok and Instagram Reel chilli oil noodles recipe videos hooked me.


Onscreen, the final product appears to be utterly delicious, packed with sweet, spicy, and garlic flavours. Second, the cooking method was fascinating and appealing. I couldn't resist the temptation and made these chilli oil noodles and thought of sharing with you.

Ingredients:

200 gram noodles;

1 tbsp. red chili flakes;

1 tbsp. finely chopped garlic;

1 tsp. dark soy sauce;

1 tbsp. peanut butter;

¼ Cup boiled noodles water;

½ tsp. Salt;

¼ Cup sesame oil;

¼ Cup spring onion;

¼ Cup fresh cilantro;

1 tbsp. sesame seeds (white til).


How to cook?

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the red chilli flakes, garlic, peanut butter, salt, and soy sauce.

  • Boil noodles in 4 cups of water with a teaspoon of salt until tender. Avoid overcooking the noodles. When the noodles are done, reserve 1/4 cup of the cooking water and drain them in a colander.

  • Stir together the noodles' cooking water and the chilli garlic sauce.

  • In a small pan, heat the sesame oil until it is piping hot. Pour hot oil into the chilli garlic sauce; there will be a lot of bubbling, so proceed with caution. Whisk the sauce to liquefy it.

  • Toss the boiled noodles in the sauce to coat with the chilli oil. Mix in the fresh greens and sesame seeds.

  • Chili Oil Noodles can be served hot or cold.


Notes:

  • Avoid overcooking the noodles. Noodles that are mushy or sticky will not produce the desired results.

  • Add salt with caution because peanut butter and soy sauce contain a lot of salt.

  • Before adding the chilli and garlic sauce, make sure the oil is hot enough. The use of cold or less hot oil will not produce the desired results.
