A biryani which you never had before with a unique twist to the traditional biryani, we bring you healthy version of authentic North Indian dish by replacing rice with vermicelli with a combination of spices like peppercorns, cardamoms, cloves and red chilli powder.So treat your guests with a unique flavored chicken biryani.

 

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 45 minutes

 

Ingredients:


1 tbsp peppercorn;

1 Cinnamon stick ;

6 Green Cardamom pods;

1 stick star anise;

2 cloves

1 tsp. fennel seeds;

1 cup Vermicelli;

2 tbsp. Ghee;

1/2 tsp Jeera;

1 Bay leaf;

3 slit Green Chilli;

1/2 cup Mint leaves;

1/2 cup Sliced Onion;

Pinch of saffron;

1 tsp. Garlic paste;

2 tsp. Salt;

300gms. Chicken;

1 tsp. Ginger paste;

1/4 tsp. Turmeric powder;

1/2 tsp. Coriander powder;

1/2 tsp. Red chilli powder;

1 tomato, chopped;

2 cups Water.

 

How to cook?


  1. Heat pan and add peppercorns, cinnamon stick, green cardamom, star anise, cloves, fennel seeds. Roast it together and grind them in a mixer.

  2. In the same pan, roast vermicelli and transfer in plate.

  3. Heat oil in same pan and add black cumin seeds, bay leaves, green chillies, mint leaves, onions and salt. Saute it well.

  4. Add Chicken, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder. Mix it well and place the lid and cook it.

  5. Add tomatoes and mix it. Cover with lid.

  6. Add water, salt, vermicelli and mix it. Cover the pan with lid.

  7. Once it is done take off the flame and rest it for 5 minutes.

  8. Serve it hot.
