Oats Manchurian

This is a fusion and healthy recipe especially for children as they don't really like oats. Some of us use oatmeal powder mixed with wheat to make roti, try making this recipe and I am sure your kids will start loving oats.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Cooking time: 25 minutes

Serves: 3

Ingredients:

100 grams Oats;

1 large chopped Onion;

1/2 tbsp. chopped Ginger;

1 tsp. chopped Garlic;

1 tsp. chopped Green chilli;

1 tbsp. chopped Green capsicum;

1 tbsp. grated Carrot;

1 tbsp. thinly slice Cabbage;

Salt as per taste;

1/2 tsp. Black pepper;

1 cup Refine oil for frying;

2 tsp. for cooking.

For gravy

1 tbsp. Soya sauce;

1 tbsp. Chilli sauce;

2 tbsp. Tomato sauce;

1 tsp. Spring onion for garnish(optional);

1 Onion large cut into cubes;

1 medium Green capsicum cut into cubes;

1 tsp. chopped Ginger.

How to cook?

  • Let's first prepare Oats ball. In a mixing bowl add oats.

  • Add chopped onion, ginger, garlic, capsicum, green chilli, carrot, cabbage, salt and black pepper.

  • Mix it well with hands. Add water gradually if needed. Set it aside for 10 minutes.

  • Now start making small balls from the mixture and again set it aside for 5 minutes.

  • Now take a kadai and add oil. Heat it on a medium flame.

  • When oil heats up add oats ball one by one and fry them on low flame until crispy and golden brown colour.

  • Remove it and place it on tissue paper or on kitchen towel.

  • Now, let's make gravy. Ina frying pan add oil and heat it.

  • Once oil is hot add garlic and fry it for 10 seconds. Later add onion and fry it for 30 seconds. Then add capsicum and fry it for 2-3 minutes.

  • In a small bowl add soya sauce, chilli sauce and tomato ketchup. Mix it well.

  • Add it in frying onion and capsicum. Add little water (depending on the quantity of gravy you need to make).

  • When the water starts to boil add fried oats ball into gravy and mix it well so the sauce goes into the oats balls well.

  • Garnish it with spring onions and serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
