Recipe info:

Masala chai is one of the most favored drink in India especially during monsoon and winter. It helps body stay warm and also helps in getting rid of blocked sinus. Moreover, it helps maintain a healthy immune system. It is mostly consumed with morning breakfast or evening snack.

 

Preparation time: 2 minutes

Cooking time: 5 minutes

 

Method 1:

4-5 green cardamoms;

2-3 cloves;

3/4 inch Dalchini


Method 2: For 3 tsp Masala chai Powder

1 tsp. Green Cardamon;

1/2 tsp. cloves;

3 grams Cinnamon;

1/4 tsp. Fennel seeds (saunf);

1/2 tsp. Black pepper corns;

1/2 tsp. Grated Nutmeg;

2 petals star flower (chakri phool).


For making tea:

2 cups water;

1-2 tsp. Tea powder;

3 tsp. Sugar;

1 tsp. Grated Ginger;

Milk adjust as per taste.

 

Making tea using method 1:

  • Pour water in a pot and add tea. Bring it to a boil.

  • Crush cinnamon stick, cardamom and cloves in a hard pestle or spice blender into a powder.

  • Add boiling water adding crushed ginger.

  • Boil for about 2-3 minutes on a low flame.

  • When the flavors are infused add milk as required and bring it to boil.

  • Then simmer till tea turns dark for about 5 minutes.

  • The flavored milk should vanish when the masala tea is ready.

  • Filter the tea and serve it with breakfast or snacks.

Make tea using method 2:

  • Clean all the spices and add it in a blender jar. Powder it finely.

  • Store it in a air tight jar.

  • Use about 1/2 tsp. or more to make 2 servings tea. To make it stronger you can add 3/4 tsp.

  • Add holy basil (tulsi) to make it tastier.
