Hariyali Chicken Tikka recipe is a classic appetizer from North India where the chicken is flavored with fresh green herbs, mint leaves and cilantro as well as spices, which gives us this delicious appetizer.
Masala is made from a blend of mint leaves and coriander leaves flavored with a range of spice powders. The key here is to marinate the chicken over a long period of time to develop enough flavor. Serve the Hariyali Chicken Tikka Recipe with lemon wedges, Pudina Dahi Chutney Recipe.
2 Chicken breasts, cut into cubes;
1 tsp. Red Chilli powder;
1/2 tsp. Turmeric powder;
2 tsp. Garam masala powder;
1 tsp. Amchur (Dry Mango Powder)
1 tsp. Cumin powder;
1/4 cup Curd;
Salt as required.
1 cup Coriander Leaves (Dhania);
1 cup Mint Leaves (Pudina);
1 Green Chilli.
How to prepare?
To start making Hariyali Tikka Chicken Recipe, wash and clean the chicken thoroughly. Cut them into 1 inch cubes and set aside.
In a blender, combine the coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilli and grind until a smooth paste, adding very little water.
Now transfer the green masala to a mixing bowl. Add the yogurt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, amchur powder, cumin powder and salt. Mix them well. Later, add the chicken pieces to this hariyali masala.
Set it aside for 1 hour.
Heat a non-stick pan, drizzle oil and place the marinated chicken pieces. Grill it evenly on both sides until golden brown. It will take about 10 minutes for the chicken to cook.
Serve it with sliced onion and lemon wedges and pudina chutney.
