Recipe info:

Curry has always been a favourite for any Indian. With varieties of flavours it would only take few ingredients to make a delicious lunch or dinner. This recipe which you are about to prepare is called Chicken Dhansak curry, is little spicy in flavour but a perfect recipe for a week night. With addition of lentils it becomes rich in fibre and protein also helping soak delicious curry sauce.


Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 40 minutes


Ingredients:

4 Boneless Chicken thighs;

2 tsp. Garam Masala;

Salt as per taste;

4 tbsp. Oil;

1 tbsp. Ginger and Garlic paste;

1 tbsp. Tomato paste;

2/3 cup cooked Red lentils;

1 tbsp. Red Chilli powder;

11/2 cup. Warm water;

1/2 cup plain Yogurt.


How to cook?

  • First slice the chicken thighs in small pieces.

  • Heat Vegetable oil in a large skillet on a high flame.

  • Place the chicken and let it cook for 3-4 minutes or until brown from both the sides.

  • Now, remove the chicken and set it aside.

  • Reduce the heat and add 2 tbsp oil and scrape any cooked on bits food from the bottom of the skillet.

  • Add Garam masala, red chilli powder and salt and cook it for 30 seconds.

  • Add ginger and garlic paste, tomato paste and mix it well.

  • Add warm water depending on how thick you need the sauce and combine well.

  • Now add chicken and cooked lentils in the skillet.

  • Stir well and let it cook for about 30 minutes on a low flame.

  • Remove from heat and stir it in yogurt.

  • Serve hot with rice or roti.
